Following their debut EP Cry Baby in 2021, we have officially entered a new era for LAYKS. If This All Ends Tomorrow features an evolved sound from talented singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Sam J Martin. LAYKS formed in the summer of 2020, and they have already garnered much success through their music releases and headlining tours. LAYKS shares that their voice in this EP asks the questions, “what are we all doing here? why do we seek love? what will happen if everything changes?”

“Ghost Town” has a really great pop style, accompanied by some pretty deep lyrics. This is the type of song that feels open to interpretation and one where listeners are able to apply the message to situations in their own lives. The stripped version of “Ghost Town” showcases a warmer, somber vibe which fits the theme well. “Alright” is a reflective track about wondering if it’s the end, but also being optimistic about the power of love. There are beautiful qualities to the instrumentals that feel comforting, relatable, and sweet.

“This EP is a reminder that the most fleeting things in life are often the most precious, they are a reminder for us to live in the moment and let go”

There is simplicity in LAYKS’ lyricism that is impactful and captures your attention. “Find Me” feels nostalgic and fresh, with an endearing charm throughout. “I’m Trying” radiates vulnerability that is easy to connect with and provides reassurance that you’re not the only one with these questions about life, and that you're not alone in just trying your best to make it through.

The growth LAYKS has exhibited from their inception until now is beyond impressive. The upward trajectory that they are on shows no signs of slowing down, and we can’t wait to continue watching their journey unfold. Sam J Martin exudes such genuine kindness, respect and appreciation. It's a pleasure to support him.
